Where on Earth? Google Earth!

That is where!
Just recently I had to complete a university assignment that asked us to 'Using a detached, journalistic style, describe a street that you know well....'
It would have been awesome to include a google earth presentation along side the street description.
I can see this tool would be used as an accessory type tool. This would be a great accompaniment to almost any english essay or assignment. It could also be a good research tool for history or any topic that related to historic landmarks. Giving students the ability to actually view the subject in real time, rather than relying on an outdated photo in a textbook.
It could also be used for the tourism students as a tour guide type of tool or assignment.
Google Earth is a very versatile tool and the teacher and learner is only limited by their own imagination in its use.

Have you ever been to the moon and Mars yet? Google Earth now can show us around the moon and Mars. Patterson (2007) stated 'Google Earth empowers students by giving them the means to complete complex tasks and by providing them considerable latitude in the design of projects.' Not only answer the student need, they also need the tips and hints of actual context from Google Earth and would help students to learn and research deeper level of actual context through Google Earth.

Kind Regards

Hi Makiko
I know isn't it exciting. I was born the day the astronaunts were returning from their first landing on the moon. So I find it very exciting to view the moon as I have a little thing going on.
